Why A Professional Decorator May Use Spray Painting Techniques

There are occasions when an area which needs painting is just so large it would take an awful lot of man hours to paint the whole space quickly and evenly with an ordinary roller and brush. In which case, spray painting is often the most practical choice, as it ensures that the paint is distributed evenly over the whole area giving a smooth and professional finish.

Some painting and decorating firms will be able to offer spray painting services to their customers. These are very often for external jobs, though there are times when spray painting can also be carried out indoors. Internal jobs may include spraying ceiling tiles or perhaps covering public corridors and staircases with an anti-graffiti coating.

Whatever the reason for the painting, the decorator will need to ensure that he or she wears the correct protective clothing such as a mask and goggles. Spray painting inevitably creates a lot of airborne paint particles so it’s really important to ensure that any items within the room are either removed or covered up to make sure they are not covered in paint too! The edges of the wall and ceiling will need to be cut in with a brush in the usual way, and it’s best that the decorator leaves a gap of approximately 4 inches between the ceiling and the top of the wall area to be sprayed in order to avoid the ceiling being sprayed by mistake.

Spray painting is an effective way of covering large outdoor areas such as blocks of flats or perhaps commercial buildings. An experienced painter will be able to ensure that the covering of paint is even and that the correct type of paint is utilised. There are many different types of paint on the market and the decorator should be able to provide advice as to which paint will be fit for purpose. For example, will a rubber paint be needed or will masonry paint suffice?

If you have a large area of space which needs to be painted, it may be worth asking your local painter and decorator if they are able to offer spray painting services.

Hiring A Professional House Painter And Reasons Why

There are many of us who like to dabble in DIY, but there aren’t many who would hold their hand up and admit that they were entirely happy with their own painting and decorating, which is why in the long run it can be best to employ a professional house painter. If you want to bring out the best in your home and have a clean, professional finish to your interior and exterior walls, there really is no question that you should hire an expert to carry out your refurbishments.

The first main reason that you may want to employ house painting contractors is that they will give you a written estimate. This means you will know how much the work is going to cost you right from the start, enabling you to stick to the budget you have set aside for this particular task. Secondly, your professional house painter will understand different surfaces and how they need to be prepared prior to paint work. For example, some interior walls need to be cleaned or covered with undercoat prior to painting and outside walls often need jet-washing to blast off the dirt and grime accumulated over time.
The third reason you may want to employ an expert is that they can recommend the most suitable type of paint for your inside or outside walls, depending on the finish you require and the surface being covered.

House painting contractors are experienced and have the correct equipment to hand to ensure that your refurbishment work is carried out to the highest possible standard. Should they need to hire additional services, such as scaffolding hire to enable them to reach exterior walls, your house painter will organise this and build it in to your original quotation.

Finally, hiring a professional house painter will ensure that your work is completed quickly and efficiently. Disruption to your daily routine will be minimal and there will be none of the worry that the work will drag on forever, which is one of the main concerns when you embark on doing it yourself.

All Good News!

We’re pleased to announce that we have been awarded the Mitie Maintenance contract for the Farnham and Epsom campuses of the University for the Creative Arts.   We’ll be keeping ourselves busy by redecorating and recarpeting buildings on both campuses over the summer.

We also recently secured two prestigious contracts with the National Trust to repair and redecorate the Vyne Mansion in Basingstoke and Hinton Ampner House in Alresford.

And finally we’d like to extend our congratulations to our third-year apprentice Carrie-Ann, who has been asked to represent this area in National Training completion.  Well done Carrie-Ann!
